Amber is the fossilized, hardened resin of the pine tree, formed about 50 million years ago. The color is mostly yellow and brown. Inclusions of insects and plant particles can sometimes be found. Amber is sensitive to acids, alcohol and gasoline. The largest deposits are found in Russia. Amber is a symbol of good luck.
