藍寶石(Sapphire)其實跟紅寶石是一樣的寶石，有不一樣的命名只因為它們不是紅色的。藍寶石有很廣的色澤(包括紅色)，不過最受歡迎的就非藍色莫屬了。質地最好的藍寶石出產於斯里蘭卡、緬甸以及世界上少數幾個地方。藍寶石是九月份出生的人的生日石，如同紅寶石，藍寶石是比較硬比較耐用的寶石，可以用特殊的化學藥劑也可以用溫的肥皂水跟軟毛刷保養。藍寶石則是象徵信仰與善良。
